DENİZ BALKANLI

Born and raised in Istanbul, I am a multi-talented artist with years of experience in the entertainment industry. I began my career as a performer at the young age of six, starring a television commercial. After attending Lycée Saint Benoit, I pursued my passion for the film industry by interning as a screenwriter at TBWA Istanbul.

With a growing passion for film production, I started building my career working as an Assistant Director, Junior Producer, Cast Director, Junior Art Director and Photographer for renowned production agencies such as First-Unit Film Productions, Anima, Istanbuldogz, Callback Istanbul, and Sugar Rush Films before and after embarking on my academic journey.

In pursuit of seeking knowledge in Psychology and Philosophy and expand my perspective, I made the decision to undertake further education in California. Studying Behavioral Sciences and Humanities while taking art classes in Los Angeles allowed me to explore a range of new aspects about the creative industries and gain deep understandings about human behavior and the nature of reality which led me to ask better questions about my future. Upon returning to Istanbul, I followed for my love for the arts by studying Management of Performing Arts all the while exploring the depths of my creativity through photography, acting and music.

Throughout my career, I have modeled and acted for a range of cinema films, short films, live performances, TV shows, commercials, magazines and campaigns, representing a variety of iconic brands. Some of the brands that I have had the pleasure of working with include Coca-Cola, Nike, J&B, Mavi, Vakkorama, Digiturk, Vodafone, BeIN Sports, Unilever, Fiat, Fanta, Haribo, Jack Daniels, Ülker, Opet, Letgo, ETS Tur, Authentic Beauty Concept, In The Mood For Love, Bonesta, Yorstruly, Lar Studio and Nadzar. My modeling work has been featured in magazines such as Health & Fitness, Elle, Gelin, and Moby Dick, while I have also lent my voice-over talents to prominent brands such as Turkcell, Fanta, Magnum, Ulker, and Elidor and many others through Imaj Voice-Over.

I also have had the pleasure of performing live music all over Turkey, including completing a tour with acclaimed rockstar Teoman in 2022. It was an honor to collaborate with him musically, and witness his unparalleled talent not just as a musician but also as a businessman firsthand. 

As a skilled vocalist, I have also performed with my own band at prestigious venues in Istanbul such as Zorlu PSM, Harbiye Cemil Topuzlu Sahnesi, Mandarin Bosphorus, Swissotel Bosphorus, UNIQ and Soho House Istanbul providing audiences with captivating musical experiences.  

Additionally, I have utilized my many years of experience in entertainment industry as an Event Manager and Membership Manager with venues such as Soho House Istanbul, Indigo, Kiki and others. With a passion for performance, event management, and musical creativity, I strive to bring my unique vision and energy to every project, delivering inspiring and unforgettable experiences.

As a certified Life Coach from Erickson Coaching International, with expertise in life coaching, communication consultancy, and creative thinking, I have had the honor and pleasure to touch many lives as well as my own. My passion for wellness and self-growth also led me to obtain my Yoga Kioo Teachers Training license, where I fuse spirituality with mind-body practices, allowing me to coach and teach yoga.

These days, as a soul jazz singer and front woman of my band DB + Motherfunk, I enjoy performing live music at private events and venues. I remain dedicated to my work in film industry by working as an art director for commercials.

Additionally, as an editor at Kaave App's astrology branch, I use my knowledge and passion for the stars to guide others on their path of self-discovery and I work as an A&R Representative at Liberty Music PR to help the growth of emerging musicians as they stay independent.

With years of experience in communication and presentation, I bring a wealth of knowledge to every project I undertake. My focus is on unlocking the potential of individuals and teams, helping them achieve their goals through creative strategic planning and skillful execution.

I have a deep appreciation for the value of overcoming obstacles and pushing boundaries, and I am inspired to take on every opportunity with a highly motivated, goal-oriented mindset. I pride myself on delivering outcomes that exceed expectations and add meaningful value.

Alongside my professional work, I am constantly seeking ways to learn and grow. Whether it's through attending workshops or connecting with peers in diverse industries I am always exploring new opportunities to expand my skillset and get out of my comfort zone to stay current with the latest industry trends.
